The short version
- Calculator inputs stay in your browser. We don't send your ZIP code, square footage, or energy data to a server.
- No accounts, no signups, no email harvesting.
- We do not collect calculator inputs for marketing. We aren't a lead-gen site.
- Google AdSense supports the site with advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and identifiers, subject to your privacy choices and applicable requirements.
What we collect
Calculator inputs. Everything you type into a calculator (ZIP code, square footage, occupants, insulation level, etc.) is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Calculate HVAC Load servers, and the application does not store your inputs or results. The PDF report is generated locally. If you choose to email results, the button opens your own mail client with the inputs and results included; sending that email shares them through your email provider with the recipients you choose.
Hosting data. Our hosting and network providers may process basic request information, such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL, to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose faults. Their retention periods and legal obligations are governed by their own service terms; we do not use those records to build visitor profiles.
Advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Its publisher script loads when you visit the site, although ads may not appear until Google completes its site review and account setup. Google and its advertising partners may process identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, and interactions with ads to deliver, personalize, measure, and protect advertising services. The website application does not load a separate analytics service.
Google advertising cookies
Google AdSense and its advertising partners use cookies and other identifiers to serve and measure ads, detect invalid traffic, and, where permitted and subject to your choices, personalize ads based on visits to this and other sites. Google's Privacy & messaging service handles advertising consent and privacy choices. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown Google's consent message when the site's European regulations message is enabled. Google's US state regulations message provides privacy choices where required by applicable US state law when that message is enabled. These choices govern Google's advertising data use; loading the publisher script does not itself record your consent.
Use the button below to reopen Google's consent message and change your choices where that message applies. For US state privacy choices, use the privacy or opt-out controls in Google's message, including its "Do not sell or share my personal information" link where provided. You can also manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or explore participating companies' opt-out options at the Digital Advertising Alliance choices page. These controls may apply to a particular browser or device.
Theme preference. When you toggle dark mode, we save the choice in your browser's localStorage so your preference sticks across visits. This stays on your device.
What we don't collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number (no signup exists)
- Calculator inputs or results (everything stays in your browser)
- Geolocation beyond the ZIP code you optionally type
- Device sensors (camera, microphone, accelerometer)
Cookies
Google and its partners may use advertising cookies and similar storage, and Google's consent service manages records of your privacy choices. The website application uses browser localStorage for your dark-mode preference. You can change advertising choices using the controls above and manage or clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Clearing storage may reset preferences and require you to make your choices again.
Third-party services
The calculators use no third-party APIs at runtime. Contact links open your local mail client via a mailto:link; any message then travels through your chosen email provider and our email provider rather than through a website form endpoint.
Children's privacy
The site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address the request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain advertising data uses. Calculator inputs are not retained by the application. For information handled by Google, use Google's privacy controls and the advertising choices above. For requests concerning information we handle, including correspondence you send us, email hello@calculatehvacload.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
