Who writes and reviews content

Danish Javaid, founder & editor, is responsible for writing and editing site content. Danish Javaid builds and maintains the calculators, documents the methodology, and reviews and edits every article against published references before publication and when updating. This is editorial review, not professional certification of a building design.

Sources we rely on

  • ACCA Manual J for residential loads, Manual S for equipment selection, and Manual D for duct design.
  • ASHRAE Handbook—Fundamentals for heat transfer, design conditions, and air properties.
  • ASHRAE Standards 62.1 and 62.2 for commercial and residential ventilation guidance.
  • The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for energy-code context and climate zones.
  • U.S. Department of Energy and ENERGY STAR guidance for efficiency and consumer information.

A reference to a standard does not mean a tool implements every requirement. The methodology describes the formulas, defaults, and simplifications used.

Fact-checking calculations and explanations

Review checks claims against the relevant references, recalculates formulas and worked examples, and checks units, conversions, and rounding. Calculator results are compared with hand calculations using the stated reference formulas. Review distinguishes heating output from equipment input, sensible from total cooling load, and outdoor-air ventilation from supply airflow. Assumptions are stated where shortcuts replace measurements.

Updates and article dates

Every article shows its published date. An updated date appears when a revision date exists and differs from the published date. Pages are reviewed when an error is identified, a calculator changes, relevant reference guidance changes, or an explanation needs clarification. An updated date records a revision; it does not promise a fixed review interval or certify that a local code requirement has been checked.

Corrections

Email hello@calculatehvacload.com with the page URL, a description of the issue, and a supporting reference if available. For calculator errors, include the inputs, displayed result, and expected calculation. Danish Javaid reads reports, tries to reproduce the issue, and checks the relevant formula or source. Confirmed errors are corrected in the affected text, example, or calculation, and the page date is updated. Material corrections are explained on the affected page so readers can understand what changed.

Advertising and independence

Google ads support free access. Advertising never influences calculator results, source selection, or article conclusions. The site publishes no sponsored content and does not sell leads to contractors. An ad is not an editorial recommendation of the advertised product or service.

Limits of the tools

The tools provide planning estimates and educational explanations. They are not a substitute for a full ACCA Manual J by a qualified professional where permits require it, or for professional equipment selection and duct design. Actual building conditions, local requirements, and manufacturer performance data must be checked before installation. Read the disclaimer for more on these limits, or use the contact page for editorial questions.
